Do you have a chronic condition or an increased risk of disease?

Our evidence-based lifestyle program helps you regain control of your health. Many chronic conditions—such as rheumatoid arthritis, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease—share one key feature: chronic low-grade inflammation.

What is chronic low-grade inflammation?
Chronic low-grade inflammation (also called inflammation) means that your immune system is continuously activated at a low level, without obvious symptoms. This silent inflammation can cause damage in the background and plays an important role in the development or worsening of many diseases.

Our approach focuses on lowering this inflammation. This reduces your risk of developing a condition, and it also lowers the chance that an existing condition will worsen.

What can you do yourself?
Research shows that a healthy lifestyle—with the right nutrition, sufficient physical activity, relaxation, and good sleep—can lower inflammation levels. This not only reduces symptoms, but also decreases the risk of developing a disease or the progression of existing conditions.

The Plants for Joints program is recommended for, among others:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and other inflammatory conditions →
  • Osteoarthritis →
  • Cardiovascular diseases, including high blood pressure and high cholesterol
  • Metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Overweight and obesity
  • Fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Perimenopause and menopause (hormonal balance)
  • Intestinal conditions such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
  • Neurodegenerative conditions such as cognitive decline, early dementia, and Parkinson’s disease

I walked a marathon!

Henny struggled with severe osteoarthritis. Her biggest dream? To walk the Nijmegen Four Days Marches—the world’s largest multi-day walking event, held each year in the Netherlands.

Don’t postpone your health. In many countries, over half the population lives with a chronic condition. The longer you wait, the harder it gets.

The good news? You have more control over your health than you might think.
