Prof. dr. Dirkjan van Schaardenburg, MD, PhD
Dirkjan is emeritus professor of rheumatology at Amsterdam University Medical Center (UMC) with expertise in the early phase of rheumatoid arthritis and a passion for lifestyle medicine.
He served as a rheumatologist at Reade Rheumatology Center Amsterdam and Amsterdam UMC for thirty years, where he initiated and led the groundbreaking Plants for Joints study as senior investigator.
As co-founder of Plants for Health, Dirkjan bridges decades of clinical experience with innovative research in risk factors and lifestyle interventions for rheumatic diseases.
